KOMMER NY... In 2018, Buschek began investigating China’s mass detention of Uyghurs, developing tools and methods that helped uncover a vast network of detention camps in Xinjiang. The investigation won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. At Data-SKUP, Buschek will share the tools and techniques he uses to investigate war crimes and human rights abuses – and demonstrate how data and modern technology can reveal what governments try to keep hidden.
